The ART-285 is the
flagship of the Artemis range of
cameras. The Sony ICX285
offers fantastic performance both in
terms of sensitivity and extremely
low dark noise. Its a mega
pixel progressive scan device.
This means all the pixels can be
read out in one go which removes the
need to interlace the separate
fields that the other CCDs
require. It is more expensive
than the other CCDs
supported but is probably worth it.
However all Artemis cameras can
easily be upgraded by replacement of
the CCD and making some simple
adjustments.
